VIBRANT BLACK 🌐 - If you’ve been even halfway paying attention to the WNBA’s offseason conversations, then you already know Natasha Cloud is going to speak up every time something doesn’t make sense , and this new housing proposal, she is not letting that slide.

The league is in the middle of negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement for 2026, and while everyone loves the idea of higher salaries, one thing the WNBA is trying to remove is team-provided housing and to Natasha Cloud, that move feels dangerous.
After the proposal hit the news cycle, Cloud spoke up for players across the league, especially the younger ones, the ones fighting for roster spots, and the ones who don’t have superstar money to fall back on.
“This makes no sense for our younger players, for the players that get cut and are stuck in leases instead of the teams that bring in replacement players, nor for players in bigger markets.”— Natasha Cloud, via Sports Illustrated
The WNBA and the players’ union are still in negotiations, and nothing is final but Cloud’s public stance put the spotlight directly on the issue.
Housing was supposed to slide through quietly; instead, it sparked a conversation about fairness and player welfare.
As the league tries to position itself for bigger revenue, bigger TV slots, and bigger global influence, players like Cloud are making sure the growth doesn’t outpace the humanity.
